Phyllis Gardner, M.D., is a professor at the School of Medicine at Stanford University, where she’s also served as Senior Associate Dean for Education and Student Affairs. Gardner holds a B.S. in biology from the University of Illinois and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School. She trained in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by a Chief Residency at Stanford University Medical Center. She also completed research fellowships at Columbia University and University College London. Gardner has received numerous national awards and serves on the Harvard Medical School Board of Fellows, among other positions. She was one of the first to be skeptical of Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of the now defunct Theranos.
